No New Comics, But Hey! Fan Art!
My laptop, Nikos, went total kaputski early this month. This was very unsurprising, since I’ve been keeping her running on a mixture of voodoo, necromancy, and aerosol since February. Anyway, actual comics will be difficult (though not technically impossible) to pull off until I hopefully am able to buy a new Mac Mini next month.
Anyway, fan art. Since I was unable to waste vast amounts of time on the internet for the majority of this month, I’ve been playing more games, watching more anime, and drawing more purdy, purdy pictures.
For example, I bought the new Golden Sun game, Dark Dawn, and beat it in five days with a bit over 31 hours on it. I played pretty much constantly when I wasn’t either working or sleeping. I could have easily beat it in about two hours less, but I kept trying to advance the games in the wrong ways at times. There is so much useless dialog in that game that you tend to avoid talking to townspeople because they either give you the same information as the last guy, or spark a useless cutscene that you really don’t need to see. It’s a fun game nonetheless.
I especially like Sveta. Since she shows up fairly late and the game’s less than a month old, I’m not going to tell you much about her other than I drew a picture of her.
I love Brawler class characters in RPGs. Especially the super powered ones. I’d call Sveta a sort of cross between Ayla from Chrono Trigger and Kevin from Seiken Densetsu 3. The difficulty of drawing her is roughly the the same too. Ayla is fairly easy to draw and Kevin is almost impossible from the sprites(Is he wearing a ruff? How does his hat work?).
The neat thing about this picture (at least I think) is that I did it completely in pen, no pencil lines put down first. The bad thing about this picture is that because I did it that way, the legs got all wonky and I am too embarrassed to show them. Seriously, they’re really bad.
